Job Purpose:

 

The Staff Accountant role is focused on assisting the Controller and Accounting/Finance Team with the overall fiscal management of Greenleaf Hospitality Group properties.

 

What You’ll Be Doing

 

  • Key Player in month-end close process
    • Prepare monthly journal entries and accruals for review
    • Review general ledger, prepaid expenses
    • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements
    • Assist with Financial Statement Analysis
  • Completes monthly balance sheet reconciliations with corporate finance staff
  • Assists with compilation of monthly forecasts, annual budgeting process 
  • Processes/tracks revenue and labor reporting
  • Banking - processing electronic payments and monthly bank reconciliations
  • Assists in preparation of filing sales tax returns and related tax forms and ensure timely payments
  • Manages capital projects, budgets, and capital in process
  • Performs intercompany billing, collection, and reconciliation
  • Processing and/or reviewing year-end tax forms (1099, 1042, W-2, 1094/1095)
  • Working with division/business leaders to enhance and improve their operations
  • Responsible for managing company credit cards
  • Assists corporate finance staff and other departments with accounting questions
  • Assists with internal and external audits
  • Compiles and researches information for variance reports
  • Adheres to Corporate Finance policies and procedures
  • Cross-trained in the absence of other Corporate Finance team members as needed
  • Maintain all contracts, licenses and renewals, including vendor management
  • Review and prepare sales commissions
  • Report on KPI’s for departments

Qualifications

What You Need for this Position

  • You have strong attention to detail and accuracy, commitment to customer service
  • You have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, are very organized and detail-oriented, thrive on process improvement
  • Ability to manage and meet deadlines
  • Ability to multi-task and work together as an integral part of the team
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Google Suite; experience with Jonas software system a plus
  • Emphasis on confidentiality
  • Customer service skills
  • Able to lift 25lbs. occasionally
