About the Role
We’re looking for a hands-on IT Infrastructure and Security Manager who is ready to lead from the front. This is a unique opportunity for a mid- to senior-level engineer with deep technical expertise—particularly in Juniper, Ruckus, and Palo Alto technologies—to take on a player-coach role. You’ll manage and mentor a small team (2–3 direct reports) while remaining actively involved in the planning, building, and securing of our infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
May include, but not limited to:
Lead and Mentor: Manage a small team of infrastructure professionals, providing guidance, support, and technical direction.
Hands-On Engineering: Design, implement, and maintain networking, server, and security systems—primarily working with Juniper networking gear, Ruckus wireless infrastructure, and Palo Alto firewalls.
Infrastructure Strategy: Collaborate with senior leadership to define infrastructure roadmaps and support business growth and resilience goals.
Security Oversight: Own and maintain core infrastructure security practices, including firewalls, access controls, network segmentation, and endpoint protection.
Monitoring and Incident Response: Oversee monitoring tools, respond to incidents, and lead root cause analysis efforts to drive continuous improvement.
Documentation & Standards: Ensure system documentation is up to date and that best practices and policies are enforced across the infrastructure footprint.
Vendor & Project Management: Manage relationships with key technology vendors, and lead or contribute to infrastructure-related projects.
What You Need for this Position
Required:
5+ years of hands-on experience in IT infrastructure, network engineering, or systems administration.
Strong working knowledge of Juniper networking equipment, Ruckus wireless networks, and Palo Alto firewall management and configuration.
Experience managing or mentoring junior engineers (formal team management experience is a plus but not required).
Solid understanding of network security principles, firewalls, VPNs, and endpoint protection.
Proficiency with Windows and/or Linux server environments, virtualization (e.g., VMware or Hyper-V), and monitoring tools.
Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
Preferred:
Certifications such as JNCIS, JNCIP, PCNSE, CWNA, or equivalent.
Experience with cloud networking, SD-WAN, and modern enterprise Wi-Fi deployments.
Background working in environments that emphasize uptime, security, and customer service.
